Connect with your Child when you read with them

This is a particularly great way to pass the time whether you are at home or on a supervised visit with your kids, because your kids - no matter how old they are - love being read to!

Choosing age related books is also important you would not read Harry Potter to a 1 year old or younger child as you would not read Dr Seuss to your 10 year old.

In addition, reading together provides wonderful opportunities for in-depth conversations about what you'd do if you were the main character, or what you think the author should have done differently or just being connected for the short time you are with them.
